Nate and Lisa The Day After

This post is particularly special for me. My best friend since high school got married a couple of weeks ago just north of Chicago. Many of us were starting to think that Nate might not find the right one. We’re getting older after all and I have been married to the fabulous Sarah for five years now. Just as we were beginning to lose hope, she appeared. He was a graphic artist for a youth group in Oklahoma, Lisa was a bible school student from Chicago. Their paths crossed and they fell for each other. He found someone that made him happier and drove him crazier (an important ingredient for a lasting marriage) than anyone before.
I was honored that Nate asked me to be his best man, but this meant I wouldn’t be able to take pictures. I would be concerning myself with looking dashingly handsome in a tux and giving hilarious speeches. Since I like doing Day After sessions I suggested we use the Chicago backdrop for some sweet photos. Knowing that I wouldn’t leave without taking pictures they agreed and we got together for a shoot. You know I like cheesy names, so we’ll call this “Chicago Nights”. Actually, we won’t ever say that again. Enjoy.

Look out, Sexy Time!

I’m so proud and happy for you two. I just wish we lived closer to each other, love you guys.
Kat and Ryan Married in Cancun
October 18, 2008 | Filed Under Destination, Trash the Dress, Weddings | 3 Comments
Welcome to the new blog and website! To get things started off right around here this first post is going to be an epic destination wedding in Cancun. I love to travel and I love to photograph weddings, so for me it can’t get much better than destination weddings. I also get a little more time hanging out with the bride and groom and the wedding party when I travel for weddings. Kat and Ryan’s group accepted me as part of the family, and we had a great time. Thanks for dropping by to see the new site, and without further ado, on to the awesome.
The wedding was held at the Dreams Cancun Resort

Everyone was so much fun, here’s the best man Jeremy doing some last minute checks.

Strike a pose. Whose is better?

At many weddings when guests ring a bell it means for the bride and groom to kiss. Kat and Ryan had to kiss but the best man instituted a new rule: Someone had to stand up and tell a story about one of them. This brought much hilarity and some tears, I’m a sucker for tears (See About Me Section).

The day after the wedding we did a Trash the Dress session of course. I love these sessions, and we always get cool pictures.
